The childbirth educator workshop is designed for individuals with a passion to empower expectant families. The facilitator has 2 decades of experience as a childbirth educator and is a member of the CAPPA Canada Faculty. Students can enjoy a variety of innovative and practical skills taught in an interactive manner. Topics covered include: nutrition, wellness, relaxation and comfort measures, adult education principles, medical options and so much more!

The CAPPA 18 Hour Childbirth Educator Training

 

Ready to become more proficient when offering childbirth education? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator with CAPPA.  This eighteen-hour training meets the first requirement of your CCCE program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to improve the skill base, knowledge and perspectives on childbirth for perinatal professionals.

The CAPPA 18 Hour Childbirth Educator Training Class includes the CAPPA Childbirth Educator Manual and resources to enhance your practice.

Why Certify as a CCCE?

Certified Childbirth Educators (CCCEs) provide evidence based information to the community, families and professionals. Childbirth Educators can be found working in a variety of settings to offer their services to families. Families can find them working as public health educators, hospital/community educators, in care providers’ offices and in private practice as educators.

 

CAPPA Childbirth Educators are non-clinical professionals. CAPPA Childbirth Educators do not dispense medical advice, diagnose medical conditions, or prescribe/administer medications or treatments of any kind. Educators do not offer information that directs families to act against medical advice.

Faculty: Shelley Langmaid, is a mother of three young children who has been teaching prenatal classes for two decades. Since she began obstetrical training, as part of her education at the Bathurst School of Nursing, Shelley has had a particular passion for family centered, holistic care. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from UNB Fredericton and has been certified as a childbirth educator and a childbirth educator trainer by the Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association. A certified Roots of Empathy educator, Shelley goes into schools with parents and infants to teach school-age children about empathy. A long-time yoga practitioner, Shelley has also undertaken certification in yoga postures for pregnancy. Shelley and her family enjoy a tranquil life in the small community of Marysville, NB.

 

Early Bird Special Rate Tuition: Registration before September 1, 2017 is $450

Regular Registration Tuition: after September 1, 2017 is $475

 

Details of Refund Policy:  If faculty cancels the workshop, all fees will be refunded to the student. If the student cancels after the deadline of September 25,2017, no refund will be issued. However, the student may transfer the this tuition to another CAPPA CCCE workshop held by Shelley Langmaid within 12 months of the training.

 

NOTE: Each student must be in attendance during the entirety of the training provided in order to receive a certificate of attendance for this Training Class.
