CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula: CPD

The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training

 

Ready to become proficient when offering professional postpartum support? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula with CAPPA.  This eighteen hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CPD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional postpartum support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified postpartum doulas with CAPPA.

 

Offering 18 CAPPA Contact Hours. Nursing contact hours potentially available on request.

 

The CAPPA Postpartum Doula Training Class includes the CAPPA Postpartum Doula Manual, and covers the following topics:

·                 Practical application of Scope of Practice, ethics, and integrity

·                 Listening and Communication Skills

·                 The Postpartum Doula as Educator

·                 Emotional and Physical Support of the Postpartum Mom

Faculty: Jill Reiter earned her Bachelors of Art in Secondary English Education in 2002 from Western Michigan University. Although Jill is no longer working as a middle school teacher, she is passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. When she isn’t hosting CAPPA Radio, Jill is training women to be postpartum doulas as a member of the CAPPA Faculty or serving families as a certified postpartum doula. Jill lives in the metro Detroit area of Michigan with her four young children and a supportive husband.

    

Details of Refund Policy: RULES and CONDITIONS *By submitting this registration form you agree to the following: I understand that there are no refunds for classes but I can transfer to another course with Jill Reiter within 12 months of the original course date with approval from Jill Reiter by paying a $50 transfer fee. If I fail to transfer to another training within 12 months and fail to pay the $50 transfer fee, I understand I will not receive any refunds for monies already paid to the instructor. I understand that I must pay for my training in full at least 30 days before the training or by contacting the instructor to pay with a check. I understand that I should not make non-refundable travel reservations until Jill Reiter has confirmed the workshop 14 days prior to the course. I understand that I must be a CAPPA member before I can become certified as a CAPPA Postpartum Doula. (You can obtain membership at www.cappa.net) I understand that using the titles CPD or CAPPA Certified Postpartum Doula (or any variation thereof) prior to officially earning my certification from CAPPA will result in being disqualified from being certified.
